Composite suspension insulators are applied to 10kv-36kv distribution lines, 66kv-500kv transmission lines, and ultra high voltage higher than 500kv lines. The composite insulators can replace current porcelain insulators or glass insulators to provide better electrical performance on the lines.
Composite suspension insulators consist of a core rod made of reinforced fiberglass for mechanical support, surrounded by shed profiles made of silicone rubber. This design enhances mechanical strength, electrical insulation, and resistance to environmental factors such as pollution and vandalism.
Composite long rod insulators are lighter, more durable, and offer improved performance in high voltage applications, contributing to the efficiency and reliability of modern power transmission and distribution systems.
Essential parameters for composite suspension insulators:
>System or rated voltage
>creepage distance
>dry acring distance if important
>section length if important
>specified tension load
>end fitting types
Except the above, whether the insulators have special requirement, such as using on high altitude places or high pollution places, a.c or d.c lines.
